October Newsletter: Top 5 Inspiring Thanksgiving Tabletop Design Ideas

The signs of fall are in the air. The leaves are showing their colors, and the days are getting shorter. Although I've enjoyed the warmth over the last few weeks, I'm officially ready for sweater weather. I transitioned my closet weeks ago. Cozy cashmeres and camel-colored leather, here I come!

This weekend, I'm heading to my aunt and uncle’s farm near Ottawa for a family get together. My job is to set the Thanksgiving table, an assignment I always gladly accept. Never underestimate the power of a beautifully set table. It creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that brings a sense of togetherness and sets the stage for a memorable evening.

If you're still looking for inspiration for your Thanksgiving table, I've got you covered. Check out my Top 5 table designs below, including my own creation - Number 1.

Moody Vibes

Show me the Moooooody. This fabric which was used as a tablecloth, is a whole vibe. The oversized grapes and faux branches add simplistic drama while looking chic.

This Steve Cordony design captures the essence of Thanksgiving in a simple play of textures.

Autumn-themed decor can infuse your celebration with a welcoming and cozy ambiance. Thanksgiving always happens in the autumn, which makes it an excellent choice for elevating your decorative scheme.

This tablescape setup by Chris Loves Julia (CLJ) showcases the best use of warm autumn colours with emerald green plates that double as accents. The golden dinnerware and subtle lilac plates and glasses make a play to your senses.

Minimalist Magic

Thanksgiving is not just about the food; it's about creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere for your loved ones. Candlesticks and holders play a vital role in setting the mood. Their soft, flickering light casts a warm and intimate atmosphere.

This tabletop idea from Jane at Home adds to the minimalistic, natural and clean ambiance. The contrast of white and gold will make your Thanksgiving feel like dinner in a classy cafe.

Green with Envy

Thanksgiving is ultimately about the food and family. A monochromatic table setting can draw attention to the delicious dishes you've prepared, as the lack of competing colors keeps the focus on the meal itself.

You can do a monochromatic theme like this green arrangement from Homes and Gardens. You can coordinate any of the table elements to different shades.
